The mission of Exceptional DREAMS is to support gifted, special needs, twice-exceptional, and all neurodiverse students by connecting them to diverse resources, advocacy, and mentorship that help create environments where every mind can thrive.
Who We Serve
Who We Serve
Exceptional DREAMS primarily serves students and their families who are identified as, or suspected to be, neurodiverse, gifted, having special needs, or being twice or multi-exceptional. In doing so, we believe this helps the community at large as we act as a bridge between educators, schools, families, and other community partners. Services start locally in Garfield County, Colorado, but our online resources and virtual advocacy extend our reach to support families wherever they are.

Guiding Principles
The D.R.E.A.M.S. framework is the foundation of Exceptional DREAMS. It reflects our belief that students thrive when their strengths are recognized, their voices are valued, and their individuality is honored. Like many of our students, it is multifaceted and our services, supports, and ideas are born from this framework.
By putting students at the center and surrounding them with mentorship, advocacy, and diverse resources, we help create pathways where every child can pursue their passions, follow their dreams, and realize their potential.
By sharing this model widely, we hope to create a greater understanding of the needs, desires, and abilities of neurodiverse individuals — creating a more inclusive and efficient environment for everyone.
While the D.R.E.A.M.S. framework gives us a clear foundation for our decisions, we also recognize that our understanding is always growing. We stay open to feedback, new perspectives, and evolving best practices so that we can live these principles more fully in our day-to-day work with students, families, and partners.
Exceptional DREAMS also strongly believes in prioritizing what individuals are capable of verses what they are not capable of. This allows us to hold each person accountable and to high standards, regardless of who they might be.

Every neurodivergent student is unique, which means their support path should be, too. Exceptional DREAMS helps students and their families navigate systems, identify their needs, and connect to meaningful resources. We do this primarily through our structured navigation program, as well as our broader community resources. We also work to advocate for, bring awareness about, and look out for the the students and families we serve.

My Next Step Program
My Next Step Program
Our foundational service is an individualized discovery and navigation program. We guide students and families from uncertainty to a clear, structured pathway. Through guided discovery sessions, we help identify strengths, support needs, and goals. We then develop a practical plan connecting the student to the right fit—whether that is mentorship, advocacy support, educational resources, or community programs.
Resource Navigation & Education
Resource Navigation & Education
We maintain an ever-growing, structured knowledge base designed to reduce confusion for families. This includes our online resource library, community-shared strategies, and event calendar, helping families find the right tools, professional connections, and local opportunities.
Advocacy & Mentorship Connections
Advocacy & Mentorship Connections
We help families bridge communication gaps with schools (such as navigating IEPs and 504 plans) through collaborative advocacy. Through our network, we also connect students with mentors who understand neurodivergence, helping to build self-awareness and positive identity reinforcement.
